Jim has been singing all throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s, spanning seven decades. First it was with mom and dad, then Shirley, mom and dad, just with Shirley after mom and dad retired from the road, and with Tina and Bryan in PROFITT. In all the years of singing and preaching the Gospel, one thing has remained the same; to be a blessing to someone, and to lead the lost to Christ. Jim’s dedication to his craft has always been steadfast and honest, and that’s what has always set him apart from the rest. If he makes a promise to someone, he will do everything in his power to fulfill that promise.

The only thing I ever wanted to do in my life is to make music, and Gospel music found me when I wasn’t even looking! It’s real and it contains the good news of Jesus Christ and Him crucified for my sins!

Jim has often said Gospel music is in his DNA, and it is something he could never get away from. Even in the darkest places of his life, Gospel music was the one thing that always led him back to God.

Jim’s outlook on life has always been optimistic, even though at times circumstances made life hard to bear. But he always found the good things in everyone he met, plus he loved to have fun and cut up with people, just to make them laugh!

Tradition never fails

Jim believes in keeping things simple, because there’s really no reason to complicate things. He grew up in a simple time and has always said he believed he was born about 50 years too late. There’s so many elders in the church he grew up with, and always wondered what it would be like growing up in their time. He believes in tradition and family, and the Word of God. “If Jesus presented the Gospel in a way that even a child could understand, that’s how I want to convey the Gospel in song”.
